Stephan Lichtsteiner has sought to distance himself from reports linking him with a move away from Lazio.
It has been suggested that the combative full-back could be on his way out of the
Serie A giants this summer, with numerous clubs rumoured to be keen.
The 26-year-old moved to
the Roman giants in 2008 and has been a mainstay of their starting XI ever since.
Having showcased his talent in Serie A, and in Ligue 1 during his time at Lille, Lichtsteiner has proven that he is capable of competing at the highest level.
It therefore comes as no surprise to find his name gracing the gossip columns, but for now Lichtsteiner insists any talk of a possible departure is nothing more than speculation.
"
First of all, I am at the World Cup and this means it is no time to talk about transfers," said the Switzerland international.
Secondly, I have signed a contract with Lazio which has not come to an end yet."
Favourites
For now Lichtsteiner's attention is focused on a World Cup date with Spain on Wednesday, as Switzerland get their South African adventure up and running.
He accepts that Ottmar Hitzfeld's side will enter their opening fixture as underdogs, but insists anything is possible in a one-off contest.
He said: "Let's be clear, Spain are by far the favourites in this game. They are one of the favourites to win the World Cup.
"If it was a cup formula like there is in the UEFA Champions League, with two games and a decisive result on aggregate, it would be hard to get one over on Spain.
"But there is only one game and in one match anything can happen.
"We cannot promise a positive result, but we guarantee that we will give our all and do everything in our power to get a win."

A me piace da sempre , e sarei molto dispiaciuto nel caso partisse (a me piace più di Kolarov , anche se il serbo è più forte tecnicamente e potenzialmente)
