As a long time seaman, I deeply enjoyed this read. I must request that the author write other books with the same informative wit as he did with this book. For instance, and I'm just spitballing here, "How to Avoid Huge Tuscan Islands".

TOO Informative.
Read this book before going on vacation and I couldn't find my cruise liner in the port. Vacation ruined.

I live near a park and frequently walk around the local area. Given the amount of dog mess that is on the pavements I thought this book would be the ideal read to stop me having to scrape my shoes on the grass before going home. It was only after it arrived that I looked closely at the title and realised it said 'How to Avoid Huge SHIPS'. A simple error that means I am still treading on massive examples of canine excrement. Having said that, I read the book anyway, and I'm pleased to say I'm not even having near misses with huge ships anymore. No sir, they aint getting anywhere near me!

For icebergs like myself, the issue of avoiding huge ships is a delicate one. For centuries, we have been attempting to find a solution to this problem. However, since humans have egregiously labeled us as the bad guys, every attempt made by us to reach out to them and better understand the migration patterns of huge ships has been rejected. For this reason, many angry icebergs have developed a hostile attitude, withdrawing to the isolated regions of the north and south poles, thus becoming even MORE unfamiliar with the characteristics of huge ships, only increasing the danger when they do meet.

I was worried that this book would portray a bias, human favoring agenda, but since resources for my bergitarian work are limited, I read it anyway. While I was disappointed that it seemed to suggest the responsibility of the person AVOIDING ships-rather than asking huge ships to take ownership of where they are going as well-it nevertheless handles to the topic in a way that doesn't demean or discriminate against icebergs.

I am happy to be able to say that this book was approved as part of the curriculum at both Ice Cap Academy and North Pole High. Here's to hoping that icebergs across the planet will soon be able to easily access this resource.

This book has destroyed my life.

A year ago I was a gregarious and fun loving guy with a circle of friends from my hometown, college and work. My beautiful girlfriend was my soul mate. In a word it was kismet.

Now, the popularity of this book means I'm a social leper, my girlfriend has married a hedge fund manager for Christ's sake.

Thanks very much.

Hugh J'Shippes.

I bought How to Avoid Huge Ships as a companion to Captain Trimmer's other excellent titles: How to Avoid a Train, and How to Avoid the Empire State Building. These books are fast paced, well written and the hard won knowledge found in them is as inspirational as it is informational. After reading them I haven't been hit by anything bigger than a diesel bus. Thanks captain!
