Liverpool have been told they could secure the signing of Lazio midfielder Hernanes, if they can come up with a significant offer.
The Reds were left frustrated when Mohamed Salah went to Chelsea after they looked certain to secure his services.
And with ambitions of qualifying for the Champions League, they do not want to reach the end of the transfer window having not made any additions to their squad.
According to talkSPORT, they will now get the chance to bring in the Brazilian Hernanes if they can match Lazio's valuation for the player.
Tottenham and Arsenal have both previously shown an interest in Hernanes,, but Liverpool are the ones most likely to make an offer for the 28-year-old this month.
The midfielder has bagged 33 goals for Lazio since joining from Sao Paulo, and could give Brendan Rodgers another attacking option as he looks to add depths to his squad.
